Kasaoka City has been striving to establish itself as the base city of southwest Okayama Prefecture by promoting a transportation network over a wide area. Examples of these efforts are the opening of the Sanyo express highway and maintenance of route No.2 (Kasaoka bypass). Existing in the time of the trend toward a highly networked information age, the city staff and citizens put in an every effort to achieve their goal --- the interests of citizens. Kasaoka City is developing as the economic, industrial, logistical western hub of Okayama Prefecture.
